Itinerary and Excursions  

(day 1) Thursday 

Yerevan City Tour - 

11 am -- after breakfast.  We begin the exploration of Armenia by a visit to Genocide museum. Lunch will be served by the Hrazdan River at a restaurant. (great scenery) 

After lunch the excursion will continue to Victory Park to see the monumental statue of Mother of Armenia, which personifies the Armenian spirit. From Victory Park the bus will drop the group at Swan Lake, where we will have a walking tour to the Opera and the pedestrian street of Northern Avenue.

The Welcome dinner will be at a nearby restaurant at 6:30pm.  


(day 2) Friday  

Excursion to Garni and Gehghart - 

10:30 a.m. The bus will leave the hotel to a visit to Geghart which is an incredible Christian Monastery partly carved into the hillside.  Garni is a pagan temple.  Lunch at a village near Garni.

Returning to Yerevan we will visit the manuscript museum. One of the world's richest depositories of ancient manuscript.

After the manuscript museum the bus will drop the group at Kaskaad which is a cultural center with a massive staircase flanked by a hillside. 

The center has a promenade area, garnered by a contemporary sculpture garden. There are numerous restaurants around the promenade area of the Kaaskad, with diverse choices of International food.

On the last Friday of the month, at kaascad there's a public group dance. You can join the public dancing and spend the rest of the evening at your own leisure, exploring Kaascad and the Sculpture garden, the promenade area and the massive staircase flanked by the hillside. (See picture below)

At Kaaskad you can see numerous works by various world renown artists.

(day 3) Saturday

A group walk, with a tour guide, from hotel to the the National gallery at the Republic square, where you can see artifacts from thousands of years ago.  And the oldest shoe in the world unearthed in a cave in Armenia.

Then you may visit Vernisage (an open-air flee market ) where you can buy Armenian folk art, unique jewelry and exclusive handmade crafts.

The remainder of the afternoon and the evening will be free. At your own leisure.

(Day 4) Sunday– 

We will visit the church of Holy Virgin St. Hripsime. (built 395 AD) + church of Gayaneh + ETCHMIAZIN the first state built Church in the world.  Then to visit the ruins of Zvartnotz, the round Cathedral built in 7th century.  Lunch on the way back.  Returning to Yerevan. The bus will drop some at the hotel or at VERNTISAGE  

At around 6:30pm Performance of National Dance and Song and then dinner at a traditional restaurant.

(Day 5) Monday -- Overnight in Goris

We Depart Yerevan, along the way we visit the historic Khor Virap Monastery, (the site where St. Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned. St. Gregory brought the Christianity to Armenia.) Visit Areni Winery and have lunch. Then we will visit Noravank Monestery from there to see Karahunj (the Armenian Stonehenge) From there we will continue to the City of Goris. Dinner will be served at Goris.

(Day 6) Tuesday -- Overnight Dilidjan 

After the breakfast an excursion from Goris to Tatev Monastery which is among the oldest and most prominent monasteries in Armenia. The monastery played an important role in the life of the region as its major spiritual, political, cultural and educational center. We will take the air tramway (Wings of Tatev) which is the longest in the world. (see picture of the monestery below) 

From Tatev Monastery we will procede to the Village of Khndzoresk Which is an old village where people lived in caves until in 1950s.  We will visit the famous Khndzoresk suspended bridge.

From Khnzoresk the excursion will continue to Lake Sevan, one of the Must see touristic Destinations of Armenia. (Lunch at Lake Sevan) There, we will visit another old monasteries by the shores of the lake Sevan. Then we will proceed to the resort-town of Dilijan  (Dinner and over night in Dilijan) 

                     DESTINATION to Tbilisi, Georgia 

(Day 7)Wednesday (overnight in Tbilisi)

After a quick breakfast, at 7:30 the excursion from Dilijan will proceed to Tbilisi in Georgia. (lunch and dinner in Tbilisi) Walking tour to Sololake, the Armenian quarters in Tbilisi.

(Day 8) Thursday (overnight in Tbilisi)

After breakfast we will continue the city tours of Tbilisi. Major sightseeings Tsminda Sameba Cathedral | Narikala Fortress | The Bridge of Peace | Sioni Cathedral Church | Dancing Fountains Plus some other places including walking tours. Dinner with Georgian Dance entertainment

(Day 9) Friday (Returning to Armenia) 

Visit HAGHBAT & SANAHIN monasteries

After breakfast from Tibilisi we will proceed to Armenia on the way we will visit Haghbat monastery one of the largest medieval monasteries of Armenia. And then Sanahin Monastery. The Haghbat and Sanahin Monasteries are considered to be jewels of medieval Armenian architecture, preserved by UNESCO and included in the World Heritage List B.  On route we will visit the Tufenkian Hotel in Lori by Debed river and will have lunch there. If time permitted we may visit Dsegh village the birthplace of Armenia's most beloved writer, Hovaness Toumanyan. 

Dinner in Vanadzore

(Day 10) Saturday

visit Erebouni (old name for Yerevan) fortress built in 700 B.C. . 

Good bye dinner at a restaurant with music and folk dance
